Be the eyes and ears of your community.
Eastern Bays Community Patrol is a volunteer patrol working in partnership with NZ Police across Auckland's Eastern Bays. Patrol twice a month with a partner, prevent crime, and help build a safer community.
In partnership with
Eyes and Ears for the Police.
Our mission: in partnership with others, we prevent crime and reduce harm through the active presence of trained patrollers.
Prevent crime, reduce harm
An active, visible patrol presence helps deter opportunistic crime. As volunteers, we're "normal everyday people who give our time, our eyes and our ears to patrolling the area."
Patrol with a partner
You'll always patrol in pairs, never alone. You'll join a team of locals who care about our suburbs and work alongside an allocated Police Liaison Officer.
Full training provided
Training usually takes about three months and is given on the job. Previous experience is not required. You'll learn observation, reporting and confidentiality from experienced patrollers.
You're the eyes and ears, not law enforcement.
Patrollers operate in partnership with NZ Police under a formal Memorandum of Understanding (signed 2002, renewed 2006, 2012, and 2020). Our role is to observe, report, and provide a presence in the community.
